Anna Sprout
Executive Director
Anna has over 18 years of experience playing on trails and working in outdoor recreation, including the last ten years spent exploring and supporting Moab's iconic trails.
She holds a degree in Biology and a master's in Education, with a focus on adult education and the connection to learning. She's currently pursuing a second master's in Outdoor Recreation Economy, focused on building workplace culture and what it means to support gateway economies like Moab's.
Along the way, she's worked as a mountain bike instructor, climbing instructor, career counselor, and high school teacher, teaching everything from outdoor leadership and professional development to organic chemistry, mathematics, and natural resource sciences.
It's this varied background - grounded in both the knowledge of the landscape and the science of how people learn and work - that makes Steward Moab's programming award-winning.

FIELD TEAM
Our field team brings together more than 100 years of combined experience in trail building, education, research, and hands-on learning across Moab's public lands. From constructing sustainable trail systems to developing visitor education programs, our team draws on decades of on-the-ground expertise to meet the evolving challenges facing this landscape.
We've built a team culture rooted in curiosity and innovation, one that approaches every public lands challenge as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and do better. Whether we're inspiring the next generation of visitors, building stronger partnerships across the region, protecting the trails and waterways that define Moab, or sustaining the work that makes it all possible, our team shows up every day with the knowledge, care, and creativity this landscape deserves.

POSITIONS
Trail Ambassador
Performs a variety of tasks related to educating trail users about minimum-impact recreation practices, either independently or as part of a team, to promote responsible recreation on public lands in the Moab area. Duties are divided between two primary recreation contexts: non-motorized (hiking) trails and motorized OHV (off-highway vehicle) routes. The position may also include other recreation contexts, such as mountain biking, climbing, and more - requiring the employee to adapt outreach and education methods to the distinct user groups, terrain, and impact concerns associated with each. Employees utilize a UTV (utility terrain vehicle) to access OHV/4x4 routes as part of these duties.
